How long does it take to get to Stansted Airport from Wembley Stadium?

There are several different routes you could take for this journey, and the one you pick may depend on travel conditions on the day. If you have a flight to catch, it would be a good idea to ensure you have at least 2 hours for this journey (you can always take advantage of the great selection of shopping and restaurants at the airport if you arrive earlier than expected), as it usually takes between 1 hour and 30 minutes to 1 hour and 50 minutes. You should also allow time to arrive at least 2 hours before your flight to check in on time.

What is the best train route to Stansted Airport from Wembley Stadium?

There are several routes on the trains to get you to Wembley Stadium from Stansted Airport, we have provided two options for you below. Both take between 1 hour and 20 minutes to 2 hours, so make sure you have given yourself enough time to make it to the airport to catch your flight, we suggest giving yourself at least 2 hours to get to the airport from Wembley Stadium.

Route 1: You will need to make your way from the Stadium to Wembley Park Station (a short 10 minute walk from the Stadium) where you can get on the Metropolitan line (purple) to London Liverpool Street station and catch the Stansted Express to take you to the airport.

Route 2: You will need to make your way from the Stadium to Wembley Park Station (a short 10 minute walk from the Stadium) where you can get on the Metropolitan line (purple) to Finchley Road & Frognal. Here, you can catch the overground service to Highbury & Islington. At Highbury & Islington you can head underground again and get the Victoria line service (light blue) to Tottenham Hale Station, where you can catch the Stansted Express to take you to the airport.

Once you arrive at Stansted Airport, you can make your way to the main terminal by following the signs or asking one of the friendly staff members for directions. It is a very short, 2-3 minute walk to the main terminal where you will be able to find your way to the check in desk.

Please note your Stansted Express ticket is not valid on the underground, but you can purchase Tube tickets at Wembley Park Station (or use your Oyster/contactless card) for the first leg of this journey and use your Stansted Express ticket from Tottenham Hale or Liverpool Street station to Stansted Airport.

The distance between Stansted Airport and Wembley Stadium is 39 miles by rail and 47.5 miles by road. The quickest and easiest route to get to Wembley from Stansted airport is to use the Tube to get to London Liverpool Street Station, where you can catch the Stansted Express to take you to the airport. Alternatively, you could make your way to Tottenham Hale Station from Wembley Stadium and cat the Stansted Express service from there.

As both of these options include changes, it would be prudent to ensure you have given yourself at least 2 hours to make your way to Stansted Airport from Wembley Stadium to ensure you catch your flight on time.

There is no direct train service from Wembley Stadium to Stansted Airport, but you can make your way to either Liverpool Street Station or Tottenham Hale Station on the underground from Wembley Park Station and catch the Stansted Express service from either station. The best route for this journey may depend on the conditions on the day.

The Stansted Express train service to Stansted Airport starts at London Liverpool Street Station, stopping just once at Totteham Hale Station. You can catch the Stansted Express from either of these London Stations. The journey from Liverpool Street takes 50 minutes and from Tottenham Hale 36 minutes.

Stansted Airport is not on an Underground line. To get to Stansted Airport, you can take the Stansted Express from London Liverpool Street (journey time: 50 minutes) or Tottenham Hale (Journey time: 36 minutes) to take you to Stansted Airport train station, which is only 2-3 minutes walk from the main terminal. Trains run every 30 minutes.
